Course Description:

RATIONALE

This module provides an introduction to the artificial intelligence and data science fields, covering the history of the discipline, exploring a variety of “classical AI” topics and the application of Python to solve data problems. Students will gain an appreciation of the application of artificial intelligence and data science systems through the completion of hands-on activities and theoretical learning. As part of this module students will understand the key elements of Python programming and the appropriate use of a wide range of different Python packages and libraries.

AIMS

Through the completion of this module students will:

  • Gain an understanding, knowledge and appreciation of the artificial intelligence and data science fields
  • Gain an understanding, knowledge and become confident in using Python to develop software solutions to data problems
  • Learn how to select and use the most appropriate Python packages and libraries

LEARNING OUTCOMES
